Mildly sweet. Goes well with most flowers,Ā green teas,Ā black teas, andĀ mint.Ā
Rose hipsĀ are harvested from a species of climbing rose known asĀ dog rose, a popular garden ornamental grown for its oval-shaped blooms. TheĀ hips, also referred to asĀ haws, are the fruits of the plant, and are best when left on the stems until late fall and after the first frost.Ā
These sweet gems are deseeded to remove the tiny hairs that surround the seeds. Once dried,Ā rosehipsĀ are suitable for use in tea blends or to use to make jams, syrups and cordials.
